Description

The Ten Largest, No. 1 – Canvas Collection is a curated part of our Timeless Masterpieces concept, presenting Hilma af Klint’s groundbreaking painting from 1907 in a contemporary, architectural format. The work belongs to the monumental series The Ten Largest, which explores the human life cycle from a spiritual and symbolic perspective. No. 1 represents childhood – the beginning of life – and is infused with movement, potential and existential energy.

Unlike traditional abstraction, Hilma af Klint’s visual language is intuitive, organic and deeply symbolic. In The Ten Largest, No. 1, soft spirals, flowing lines and powerful color fields in pink, blue, yellow and white interact across the surface. The composition moves freely, conveying a sense of emergence, growth and spiritual expansion. This is a work that is not merely observed – but experienced.

In the 100×150 cm format, the painting’s monumental character fully unfolds. The vertical composition enhances the upward movement of the work and creates a physical presence that envelops the space. The flow of color and symbolic elements is given room to breathe, resulting in a piece that feels both powerful and harmonious on the wall.

The Ten Largest, No. 1 brings a profound artistic expression to its surroundings and is equally suited for private homes, creative environments, gallery-like spaces and representative settings. It is a work that does not tell a linear story – but conveys a feeling: of the beginning of life, inner energy and the invisible order connecting humanity and the universe.
