Description

Swans (1918) – Canvas Collection is part of our concept Timeless Masterpieces, presenting Bruno Liljefors’ nature painting in a contemporary, architectural format. The artwork depicts two swans in a winter landscape – calm, alert and fully integrated into their surroundings. It is a motif that captures the silence of nature rather than its drama.

Liljefors was a master at portraying animals in their natural environments, without romanticisation or symbolism. In Swans, movement and stillness meet, as the birds’ soft forms contrast with the muted textures of ice and shoreline. The colour palette is restrained and harmonious, with earthy tones that create a calm and timeless expression.

As a canvas piece, Swans brings a warm, nature-inspired presence to the room. It is particularly well suited to mountain cabins, rural settings and homes where stillness, balance and a strong connection to Nordic landscapes and wildlife are desired.
