Description

Belle Époque – Poster Collection is a curated selection within our Timeless Masterpieces concept, where three original posters from the late 19th century tell the story of a time when industry, culture, and art converged in Paris and northern France.

Two classic advertising prints from Defrance et Cie (1897) demonstrate how industrial products were marketed with elegance and craftsmanship. Typography, ornamentation, and detailed composition make them beautiful time capsules from an era when even advertising was art.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s iconic poster “Moulin Rouge: La Goulue” (1891) captures the vibrancy of Montmartre’s nightlife and stands as a milestone in modern poster art. The graphic language becomes as important as the content – an explosion of movement, colour, and atmosphere.

Together, these three works form a narrative of the Belle Époque – a time of optimism, innovation, and creativity. The collection is a tribute to the birth of poster art and its ability to unite function and beauty.
